The 2021 Chevrolet Colorado is a midsize truck that approaches full-size capability. There are three engine options that are so good you literally cannot go wrong, and the available technology is efficiently packaged. If you want your truck to be rugged, and strong, with a quiet, refined interior then the new Chevy Colorado has your name on it.
There are four trim levels for the Chevy Colorado: WT, LT, Z71 and ZR2. The engine choices start with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine standard on the WT, and LT trims and this engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic. A 3.6L V6 engine with an 8-speed automatic is optional. This upgraded 3.6L V6 and 8-speed automatic is the only powertrain used for the next trim level up: the Z71 trim. The top trim, the ZR2, comes with the 3.6L V6 and 8-speed automatic powertrain. However, a 2.8L Duramax Turbo-Diesel 4-cylinder engine is an option and is paired with a 6-speed automatic. The diesel has almost as much torque as the V6 but gets there at 2,000 RPM instead of 4,000 RPM.
There is a very cool paint color this year and it is available only on the ZR2 trim. The name of the new color is Sand Dune Metallic. It is one of the lighter shades and leans more to tan than gold. Sand Dune Metallic is a crisp and clean color. Perfect for the ZR2 and even has a bit of a military feeling to it. Kind of like a freshly pressed and starched khaki uniform.
The best thing to do is come see the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado up close and in person. There is a lot more to like about this truck. Especially if you really do not need a full-size vehicle but don’t want to skimp on power and performance.
